Christie Slogan Causes Large Problem.

By K. Tarmsud Anticipating that Chris Christie will soon announce he’s running for president, the Chris Christie Fan Club has jumped the gun and begun actively campaigning for him. Members have gathered signatures, formed groups, sent letters and made calls. And they’ve done one other thing–something that instantly became controversial. They came up with a campaign slogan, and put it on t-shirts, mugs, posters and pins. The message? “Too Big to Fail.” The slogan quickly drew criticism from the governor’s inner circle because Christie’s weight is a touchy subject for his campaign. “We appreciate their efforts, but want them to drop the slogan,” said Jeff Blomton, a Christie campaign spokesperson. “This is not the best way to show support for the Governor. “Our slogan is about Governor Christie’s larger than life persona,” said Tom Crosby, head of the Chris Christie Fan Club. “He has big ideas, a big personality and does things in a big way. I don’t see what the fuss is about.” “Yes, he’s heavyset, but we think that’s a plus, because many Americans are heavyset,” added Crosby.” As were some great American presidents, including Teddy Roosevelt and William Howard Taft. And those two guys really got things done. So will Christie.” “Also, it’s not like his campaign can hide his size,” Crosby pointed out.
